WEST BLOOMFIELD OPEN: Week 2 Predictions

By Joe Kassis | West Bloomfield League Coordinator

7 p.m. – C4 (1-0) vs. 808's and Fastbreaks (0-1)

C4's new look lineup picked up right where there predecessors had left off in an impressive opening win last week.  While 808's showed spurts of looking like a team that could make a lot of open shots, over 40 minutes it looked like inconsistent offense that was too dependent on long range jumpers.  Long misses leading to C4 run outs is a recipe for disaster.  This is not a team that you want to try to outscore, if anything, slowing the game down and mucking it up would be a better strategy.  A big C4 win is in story for Terrance Warren Jr and company tomorrow night.

Prediction: C4 108 - 808's and Fastbreaks 76

8 p.m. – FireStorm (0-1) vs. Gamers (0-1)

While both teams lost last week, Gamers looked like a team that could get hot offensively and beat anyone on any given night after pushing C4 to the wire.  FireStorm was non competitive in their first game together, a 93-45 loss.  One would think that things could only get better for FireStorm but facing a Gamers team that is eager to get their first win on the board is not a recipe for success.  Look for Sean Mattia and his crew of long range assassins to push towards triple digits in the 8 p.m. affair.

Prediction: Gamers 98 - FireStorm 68

9 p.m. – Monstars (1-0) vs. Hit Squad (1-0)

The game of the night features two undefeated teams that won fairly easily in Week 1.  The Monstars are currently the biggest question mark in the league.  They pass the eye test for talent, shooting, dribbling, defending, however, we have yet to seen them truly tested.  Hit Squad's trio of Desmond Dawson, Anthony Douglas, and Devon Keating whom led them to a 9-1 record and runner-up finish deserve to be picked to win this one at this point.

Prediction: Hit Squad 80 - Monstars 71
