GAITHERSBURG: Week Six Predictions

By Remy Primas | Gaithersburg Media Associate

7 p.m. - Strayer vs Virginia Tech

This will more than likely be the game of the night. In their previous matchup, Strayer walked away with a come from behind win to propel their win streak. Many were left to wonder had Ivan Beran of the Hokies not gotten injured down the stretch, would Strayer have actually won that game? He was definitely doing a great job of defensively on Shelby Jupiter.

Needless to say tonight each team will have all their players back at full strength. I’m anticipating Eric Nixon to have one of his better games tonight. He will definitely be needed especially with the way Mike Smith of Strayer has been playing this season. Once the ball is tipped, it should be an old fashioned basketball shootout.

8 p.m. - Hampton vs Missouri

The last time these teams met, Missouri got off to a hot start and led most of the game until halftime. Once they stopped playing team basketball, it showed, and Hampton capitalized making them pay defensively and offensively by hitting a UH record 31 three-pointers in that game.

Hopefully this game will be different for Mizzou and they can stay connected as a team the whole way through. Expect Remy Primas to come out and help lead by example on the court. It won’t be an easy task especially since Hampton is a stacked roster and having Jerry McFadden, Brandon Allen and Raegan Zemena all averaging more than 22 points per game. That’s just insane! This could be a make or break game for both squads. It should be a good one!
