Is Kyree LaPlanche ready to make “the leap” this year?

Jason LaPlanche is no stranger to the New York City National Tournament. But this time around, he’s constructed a Motivation roster based off of chemistry, and he hopes it will pay dividends come tourney time.

The guard play is highlighted by the Father/Son duo of Laplanche & Kyree LaPlanche, who played together previously in the tournament. They’ll be accompanied by the viral sensation, David “Mak” Thompson, who is looking forward to bringing his talents back to NY.

Last but not least, UH NY tourney standout Marco Banegas-Flores is as tough as they come, helping to round out a group that shouldn’t have an issue putting the ball in the bucket.

The forwards are no slouch either, anchored by returning big man, Kerry Weldon and making his National Tournament debut, “The UH Ring King” Octavio Cruz. Motivation is also featuring Juran Ligonde and UH veteran Steph Eusebe bring a ton of experience to the front court.

Motivation likely won't be the biggest team on the court, but they are up to the task. With a back court that has a good mix of speed and shooting, and a front court with decent size and a knack for defense, they are looking forward to letting their play do the talking.

“We know it won't be easy, but I like our chances this time around” said Jason LaPlanche. “Motivation is gonna surprise some folks out there.”
