Rico and Terrell Suggs after winning the 2021 Ultimate New York City National Tournament

After Ball So Hard’s stunning 82-79 loss to Ultimate Oops in Saturday’s pool play of the 2021 Ultimate New York Tournament, UH critics were saying their dynasty was over.

What a difference 24 hours makes.

On Championship Sunday, Player/GM Terrell Suggs had his team ready to play. They avenged their loss to Ultimate Oops by crushing them in the Elite Eight 67-51. In the Final Four, they cruised to double-digit victories over LTC and Final Chaptr to win their record fifth Ultimate Hoops National Title.

With the win, Ball So Hard became the first team in history to win a Las Vegas and New York City national title.

Dermaine Crockrell was named Tournament MVP after averaging 16.0 PTS and 3.8 REB for the weekend.

Crockrell led all scorers with 26 points in Sunday’s Championship Game. This is the fourth National Tournament MVP award for his career, almost guaranteeing a first ballot Hall of Fame induction.

Looking ahead, Ball So Hard will attempt to become the first team in history to win a Las Vegas and NYC tourney in the same year when they compete in the UH Vegas National Tournament Oct.16-17 at Life Time- Green Valley.
