Dinkin Flicka captain, Donte Howell, is back to defend his 2019 Fall title with Carlos Valdez, Hassan Patail, a new roster and another reference to The Office after winning as Scott’s Tots last season.

The Garden City Draft League allows one keeper, which Howell used on Valdez. Since they won the title last season, they were awarded the last pick in the first round. This is designed to keep the competition as even as possible, but Dinkin Flicka used that pick on Matthew Mehler, who destroyed Lottery Picks in Week 1.

Mehler had an ascetically-pleasing stat line of 25 points and 25 rebounds to help Dinkin Flicka win 78-56. Along with the double-double, he shot 12-16 from the field to give him a PPR of 47.0, putting him atop the national PPR leaderboard so far for the 2020 Winter season.

Mehler has career averages of 20.6 points and 13.2 rebounds, making him a dangerous addition with the high-volume scoring of Howell and the all-around skillset of Valdez. Those two were their usual selves last night as well, as Howell scored 24 points on 9-18 shooting and Valdez had eight points, 13 rebounds and shot 4-8 from the field.

Dinkin Flicka and Mehler benefitted from Khadim Ndiaye being absent for Lottery Picks, as he’s listed at 6’6” and averaged 18.6 points and 10 rebounds last season. Mehler took full advantage of that, as his 25 and 25 show.

There’s a lot of games left this season, but Howell and Dinkin Flicka unsurprisingly look like legit title contenders again this season.
