The Jumpshot Hustlers came into Week 3 in the Fridley Rec-Plus League 0-2 this season, and with under five seconds left last night against the Killer Beez, it looked like they were on their way to 0-3.

The Jumpshot Hustlers were trailing 60-59, with an inbound opportunity underneath their own basket. Scott Rorvig inbounded the ball to Jordan Allard on the wing, and he drove into the post and was immediately doubled. Allard had zero assists in the game up to this point, but he picked a great time to get his first, as he kicked it out to Sam Hanson, who was spotting up on the fringe of the half court Ultimate Hoops logo.

Hanson had no time to do anything but put up a shot right away, and his deep attempt banked in to give the Jumpshot Hustlers the 62-60 win, their first of the season.

It wasn’t the prettiest game-winner you’ll ever see, but the Jumpshot Hustlers don’t care about that.

“Just like we drew it up haha” Jack Ruhland said in a comment on the video post in the UH Minnesota Facebook group, joking about the chaos of the play.

Hanson finished the game with 17 points and nine rebounds, shooting 3-5 from deep. Rorvig had the best all-around game for the Jumpshot Hustlers, putting up 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists on 6-9 shooting from the field.

Kali Terry led the way for the Killer Beez, scoring a game-high 22 points on 8-15 shooting.
