Father-son duo of Jason and Kyree LaPlanche will be back in this year's National Tournament

When Motivation captain Jason LaPlanche submitted his initial roster for this year’s New York National Tournament, there was one glaring omission: his son Kyree.

After Jimmie Melton had to drop out this week, Jason replaced him with Kyree. The father-son duo is back for a second straight tournament at Sky.

The story of them playing together at the national level was awesome, but it did not go as planned for the LaPlanche’s and $Ball. The duo combined to average 10.3 points on 14.3 shots, shooting 30.2% from the field and 13.6% from deep. This deviates from their career combined averages of 45.6 points on 32.4 shots, shooting 49.6% from the field and 42% from deep.

There’s almost no where to go from up for the LaPlanche’s and Motivation this year, as they both struggled last year and had an 0-3 record with $Ball. They both have national experience playing together, and a brand-new roster this year. We’ll see where they end up.
