The Redbulls beat the Wolves 55-50 in the Westwood Rec League last night, and judging from the box score, it was an ugly win.

The game had a total of 89 missed shots, 31 missed free throws and 20 turnovers. Both teams shot 30% or lower, but the real shooting woes came from the Wolves. They shot 1-25 from deep and 13-36 from the free-throw line…yikes.

Mario Payne was one of the few bright spots in this game, as he took advantage of the poor shooting by grabbing 20 rebounds, with 11 of them coming on the offensive end. His shooting was a product of the ugliness of this game, as he shot 7-27 from the field, but he turned that into a game-high 23 points.

Those kind of scoring and shooting numbers were common in this game, as there were only two players that scored more points than their total shot attempts. Jason LaPlanche scored 19 points on 16 shots, while David Leder scored 16 points on 15 shots.

This will not be a game that goes down as a classic for UH Boston, but the Redbulls will take the win, which gets them to 2-2 midway through the fall season.
