West Bloomfield OPEN:  Semifinal Predictions

By Joe Kassis | West Bloomfield League Coordinator

8 p.m. – No. 1 Hit Squad (8-0) vs. No. 4 808's and Fastbreaks (2-6)

With 808's sneaking into the playoffs despite a 2-6 record, they serve as not much more than cannon fodder for the undefeated Hit Squad in the semifinals.  The only chance 808's would have is if Hit Squad completely took this game for granted and essentially didn't "show up" and lost a low-scoring game that it has no business losing.  Even with minimal effort, the trio of Anthony Douglas, Devon Keating, and Temofe Unyameluna should help Hit Squad cruise through this semifinal with ease and give them a shot at the perfect 10-0 season that they missed out on last year.

Prediction: Hit Squad 91 - 808's and Fastbreaks 78

9 p.m. – No. 2 C4 (7-1) vs. No. 3 Monstars (4-4)

This has been a mismatch both times out so far for C4, who has won comfortably in both games.  With C4 a touch shorthanded in this one, TJ Warren and Roger Hood will really have to carry the load and count on some big shots made on the perimeter from their role players to take some pressure off.  The overall talent and athleticism level of Monstars can create some problems for C4 with having multiple players on the floor who can create their own shot at any given time.  With the playoff atmosphere ratcheting up the intensity in this one, it should be the most hotly contested game between these two teams yet.

Prediction: C4 83 - Monstars 77
