KING OF PRUSSIA: Week 3 Power Rankings

By Kenny Brown | King of Prussia League Coordinator

1. KOP’s Finest  (2-0)

KOP’s Finest has made it clear to the league they are on a mission to prove they are the best squad standing. After a Week 1 squeaker over the defending champs they knock off Hit Squad week 2 without leading scorer Joe Colangelo in the building. This team can score inside and out, they can go up and down or play a half court game. Point guard Stephen Coachi took on the scoring load, scoring coast to coast layups, getting to the foul line all while involving his teammates in the flow of the game. This backcourt duo of Colangelo and Coachi will be hard for any team to handle.

2. Mud Dogs  (2-0)

The Mud Dogs are making it look easy winning their first two games by an average of 40 points and scoring a league-high 87 points a game. Captain Andrew Ctivanov has his team running on all eight cylinders. Mike Zhadkevich is the engine that keeps the team going, doing everything, scoring, rebounding, distributing, and getting steals, he is completely dominating the league at this point. Last week he had a triple-double and barely broke a sweat making his case for the league MVP through 2 games.

3. Sunline  (2-0)

Sunline is back and have one goal to get back to the championship game but this time take home the title and the coveted championship banner. Week 2 had Sunline in a championship rematch knock of reigning Champ King and Duck in a physical competitive game that saw multiple payers get techs, and one player ejected. Captain Mark Lepine has yet to play a game but his team has out the league on notice they fear no one and they are coming to play every week like it’s their last.

4. King and Duck  (0-2)

The Reigning champs King and Duck have started out 0-2, more losses this season through two weeks than all of last season. The schedule had them matched up with two tough opponents early on and it doesn’t get any easier Week 3. Captain Marcus Gaskins has to get his team back on track and back to playing championship ball.

5. The PayneKillers  (0-2)

The PayneKillers were destroyed Week 2 and completely over matched against the Mud Dogs. Captain Alex Riley and his team of guards must find that team chemistry if they want to get a win in this ultra competitive league. Former league MVP Pete Martignetti and super quick guard Emilio Brady will be heavily relied on to get this team in the winning column.

6. Hit Squad  (0-2)

The Hit Squad fall lose their second game in as many weeks and last week was a heart breaker. Down by as many as 16 points they fought back to cut the lead to two with nine seconds remaining. Point guard Mike Monroe, who hit several 3-pointers during the run, pushed the rock up the floor drew the defense, kicked to a trailing Kenny Brown who had had the game-winning shot fall just short . The positive for this team is the ability to rally back and compete with arguably the best team in the league. Look for this squad to be right in the mix come playoff time as they have added two solid guards to give them depth.
