LAGUNA NIGUEL DRAFT: Championship Night Predictions

By Billy Hilliard | Laguna Media Associate

The Play-In Round did not disappoint as both Reincarnated and Nothing but Net move on to face the top two seeds in the semifinals! Tonight gives us plenty of storylines and players to root for. Let's take a look at what is in store for tonight's match ups.

(2) Old Skool Jordans vs. (3) Reincarnated

Reincarnated moves into the semifinal round after pulling away late from Bumblebee Tuna late in what was an epic back and forth between heavyweight contenders Pete DeCasas and Daniel Houtz. DeCasas didn't get a lot of help on the offensive end as the team only shot 24% from behind the 3 point line. Luckily, BBT couldn't take care of the ball as Reincarnated took advantage of 18 turnovers to put this game away. OSJ comes into this match up after a bye as the number one seed in the playoffs. Not the tallest team, not the flashiest, and don't necessarily light up the scoreboard, OSJ always seems to find a way. Even though last in points scored, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks, the category that stands out the most is 1st in points allowed. That is attributed to their team defense mentality as they have just absolutely smothered teams this season. Led by Dan Jordan (18/4/3) and Tommy Fausett (17/11), OSJ has bought into team first mentality of doing what it takes to get the job done. The season match up included a forfeit and a win by Reincarnated. This game will come down to who controls the pace and who OSJ can throw at DeCasas to slow him down. This game could easily give us a championship match up feel.

Prediction: Vegas Odds has this game as a "Pick em." Reincarnated by 1 in OT

Championship: Reincarnated vs. Nothing But Net

Both lower seeds move on to give us an offensive slugfest. Nothing But Net pulls away in the second half to win by 12.
