CHAMPIONS: Playoffs Predictions

By Kevin Gill | Champions Media Associate

7 p.m. - No. 2 Alliance (6-2) vs No. 3 Bulletts (2-6)

Alliance is riding high and the Bulletts are falling fast, unless Donte Mathis is walking through that door come Thursday I don’t see much change from the last outcome. I know the old saying is it’s hard to beat a team three times. Well they’ve already done it with an average winning margin of 13 points. So that’s about where we’ll set the line. Assuming Donte doesn’t show up, they should win easily.

Line -13.5 Alliance

Prediction: Alliance 95, Bulletts 80

8 p.m. - No. 1 Lake Houston Live (7-1) vs No. 4 Monstarz (1-7)

Lake Houston Live probably played their most impressive game of the season racking up 124 points against Monstarz, but they also couldn’t get any stops surrendering 104. Shouldn’t be too much cause for concern for the number one seed. Lake Houston will be with Eddie Peterson this game so I predict smarter basketball from them...BUT, It’s the playoffs and the Monstarz have been known to play better when something is on the line. Charon Batiste and Johnny Gill will be locked in I expect a dog fight.

Line -15.5 Lake Houston Live

Prediction: Monstarz 81, Lake Houston Live 78

Championship

9 p.m. - Monstarz vs Alliance

Duke Reed will be the matchup problem for the Monstarz in this battle. Jervaughn Baity and Brian Tennant will have solid games overall, but Duke will be a problem. Xavier Batiste I believe will have the game of his life, scoring close to 40 points. Monstarz will have to be EFFICIENT this game and not settle for bad shots. They will need the perfect game to beat this juggernaut and I believe they play just that. Alliance will play a great game as well but will be a little too overconfident and come up short.

Line -24.5 Alliance

Prediction: Monstarz 90, Alliance 87
