The Hoopsters Will Be Denied Another Upset

7 p.m. - The Hoopsters (1-1) vs The Backstreet Ballers (2-0)

Fresh off of the upset of 2018, The Hoopsters look to keep it rolling against their former mates, The Backstreet Ballers. A fusion of two teams from the summer league, these players know each other very well. Knocking off a shorthanded Shade Lizards a week ago puts The Hoopsters in prime position to pull out a victory. As long as they can keep their heads in the game, I expect a close battle. The Backstreet Ballers do possess more athleticism though, and that may be the difference here. The Ballers pull out a tight one and remain undefeated. 

Prediction: Backstreet Ballers by 7

8 p.m. - The Shade Lizards (1-1) vs LTF Flex (0-2) 

The two-time defending champions, The Shade Lizards, are reeling after last week's shorthanded defeat to The Hoopsters. With only four players dressed for the majority of the game, they were behind the 8 ball from the jump. After a flurry late in the second, it was too much to overcome. If Andy and Damian can get a boost from Mike and Sheldon, things should get back to normal. LTF Flex has definitely made strides since the summer, but their cohesion is still somewhat in question. Naseer had career highs in points and rebounds a week ago, but he will need a lot of help against the big boys of The Shade Lizards. 

Prediction: The Shade Lizards by 19
