KING OF PRUSSIA: Championship Game Prediction

By Kenny Brown | King of Prussia League Coordinator

7:45 p.m. - King and Duck  vs  Sunline

Here we go, championship game on deck and not surprising at all King and Duck, the reigning champs are looking to win back-to-back championship banners and three of the last four titles. Captain Marcus Gaskins has been on a mission to dominate the league every season and his squad seems to get better come playoff time. He calls it “Championship Behavior”. Marcus, a former League MVP, added another former MVP in Anthony Bennett (15.6 ppg, 10.2 rpg) to his team this summer when he won his second banner.  Now looking to win his third banner, Marcus has more players with league hardware. The current Fall League MVP, newly added big man Ty Teasley (17 ppg, 10.4 rpg), and the current Fall League Defensive Player of the season Cody Pittman (2.7 steals per game). This team is loaded and they play the game the right way.

Their opponent is Sunline, making their first appearance in the championship game. Captain Mark Lepine might have found the formula to knock off the reigning champs. Team leading scorer, Abdiel Ortiz (17.4 ppg), and former league MVP Pete Martignetti, can run all day long as they get up and down the floor like grey hounds. Point guard Donte McDaniels runs the show and distributes the ball to the 3-point shooters Carmen Fortino and Shawn Hliwski, who are deadly from deep. Depth is key for Sunline as they must control the game and play their pace if they want a chance at the championship banner. I see a fast-paced game with plenty of lead changes. Will the veteran, two-time champs roll to victory or will the new kids on the block crash the party and reign supreme?

Prediction:  King and Duck  75,  Sunline  65
