FOLSOM: Semifinals Predictions

By Cory Gregersen | Folsom Media Associate

6 p.m. - Locker Room Talk (7-1) vs Scrappy Hour (1-8)

I was pleasantly surprised by Scrappy Hour’s resilient win against Ballbarians last week, as they used their big men and clutch free throw shooting to end their season long losing streak. That being said, it’s going to take a much bigger miracle to take down Locker Room Talk, who hold the No. 1 seed and are firing on all cylinders right now. I expect to see two intense, physical matchups between Ron Jacobs and Mike Martz, as well as Ryan Benander and Sanjay Bagai, all of whom will be aggressively fighting for rebounds. I don’t expect a blowout, but I believe Joe Visman will be in control of this game and guide his team into the championship.

Prediction: Locker Room Talk 74, Scrappy Hour 63

7 p.m. - Expansions (5-3) vs Game Time (5-4)

Each team has beaten each other this season, and it has come down to shooting. In the first meeting between these teams, Expansions went 3-25 from downtown and lost by 10 points. Two weeks ago, they went 9-25 from deep and won by nine points. In order to win, the Expansions will need to limit Tyler Alexander’s game, get back on defense, and shoot the ball well. Game Time is coming off an impressive victory last week, pouring in 109 points as all five of their players scored in double figures. I predict Meysam Salehi will have another big game, as his confidence is sky high after a 31-point performance. Also look for Andy Tai and Juan Soto to contribute with sneaky buckets and corner 3s. This will be a close game, and it may come down to who has the momentum in the last five minutes. I may be biased, but i predict that the well-rested Expansions will pull through in the final moments of the game.

Prediction: Expansions 84, Game Time 80

8 p.m. - Championship Game: Expansions? vs Locker Room Talk?

Whoever makes it into the championship game, it will be a fun game to watch. Make sure to stick around. Thanks for making this a fun season!
