CHAMPIONS: Week 8 Power Rankings

By Kevin Gill | Champions Media Associate

1. Alliance (5-2)

DUKE IS BACK! No not the Blue Devils, we already knew that. Duke Reed made a much needed comeback to Alliance lineup. Only to lead the Houston league in PPR at a much needed time. They are clicking at just the right time with one week left. Oh and not to mention Jervaughn Baity has been out of his mind as of late (89 Points, 34-49 FG, 13-22 3PTM in his last three games). Safe to say Alliance is poised to repeat or at the very least get to the championship. #StayTuned ⏳

2. Lake Houston Live (6-1)

Lake Houston Live still only one loss on the season, but haven’t been tested in a while. Shelby Parson’s MVP case has quieted a bit, but the team’s success hasn’t dipped too much. With they’re upcoming matchup against the Monstarz we can find out a lot about this team headed into the postseason. League sources have told me they will be shorthanded headed into Week 8, so this could get interesting. 👀

3. Bulletts (2-5)

The Bulletts are free falling quick fast in a hurry. Without their captain they look like a completely different team. I’m not so sure how competitive they can be without Donte Mathis. Shoutout to Donte by the way he’s doing an awesome job coaching and getting his team primed for a postseason run. The Bulletts outside of Larry Mooney haven’t had much to show for. Someone has to step up now or an early playoff exit could be in their future. ✌🏾

4. Monstarz (1-6)

The Monstarz will be back in the fourth spot for my power rankings after awful showing this past Thursday. Although they were shorthanded, that’s not an excuse to suffer the worst lost of the season and in franchise history (45 points). Especially after only being down as little as three points in the first half with just under six minutes to go. I believe this was good for the team to be humbled and get back refocused and remember it’s a long season and ANYTHING can happen in the playoffs. We saw this last season with an undefeated team (New Era) getting bounced in the semis. Hold your head guys. 🤐
