GREEN VALLEY DRAFT: Week 5 Predictions

By Michael Palmer | Green Valley Media Associate

Ironman (4-0) vs. Thor (1-3)

The undefeated, undisputed top-ranked Ironman will face Thor who's in need of a big-time win. Thor was without their main weapon in Kodiak Yazzie last week and do they need him more than ever. If he does suit up, he'll most likely face Ironman's J.J. Todd and the two have played against and with each other for a while now. Another quality matchup to watch for is Ironman's Bernard Preston and Thor's Juan Carter.

Thor is going to have to stop Ironman's three-point weapons in Angel Castro and Sean Watkins and it's going to take a lot to stop Ironman's sharp-shooters. One player for Thor that may have an impactful performance is Dominic Pedotto and I know he'll be up to the challenge. I like my chances in picking Ironman again as they have a quality group of players.

Prediction: Ironman -12

Spiderman (3-1) vs. Hulk (2-1)

Charlie Farber and Spiderman will take on Ben Carey and Hulk in what will be probably one of the most competitive games of the week. Will we see Hulk's Sam Earl suit up and battle it out against Spiderman? If he does, he'll be guarded like crazy and I know he'll be ready to go. The duo of Carey and Marcus Wilson is having a great season and the duo always go back and forth scoring as well on going on big runs. Watch out for Daniel Bower to play lockdown defense and make a statement.

Spiderman is in need of some clutch scorers to knock down some shots and I know they'll do much better than last week. Vance Randall is in need of getting some threes to go down. Let's see how Josh Rollans does against Wilson. I know it's going to be a physical battle down low and this matchup will be worth watching. Farber will probably score 20-plus points and will need his group to contain Hulk and stop them in transition. I could easily go with Hulk in this one with their sharp-shooters, but something about Spiderman is telling me to pick them based on the fact they've been without Earl and Ben Simmons most of the season.

Prediction: Spiderman -3.5

Black Panther (0-3) vs. Captain America (1-3)

The winless Black Panther had a bye week last week and will square off against Captain America. The duo of Kenny McNeil and Kerry Knoll of Captain America will look to repeat their performances from last week and pour down some threes. Hopefully Mike Smiljanic can show up for Captain America and team up with Anthony Khotsikian and reck havoc down low.

The trio of Luis Maceira, Anthony Livingston and Stefan Hanania can easily stop Captain America's sharp shooters, especially Livingston as he always plays lockdown defense. What will we see out of Eric Redeaux in this one. He's a special player and very intimidating, so Captain America needs to look out for him. Let's see how Black Panther does when I pick them to beat Captain America.

Prediction: Black Panther -2
