AUSTIN: Week 2 Predictions

By K. Scott | Austin League Coordinator

6:30 p.m. - Shots Fired vs. Lifetime Elite

Lifetime Elite will move the ball well against this team and Brian Todd of LE will have a big game. Wan Trice will play well again for Shots fired and the McIver twins will make them earn every bucket, but LE has the edge with chemistry and a deeper bench.

Prediction: Lifetime Elite wins 88-76

7:30 pm - Team Finesse vs. Professors

This will be a close game with two former players on Team Finesse being Professors last year. Payton Simon and Andre Mitchell of Team Finesse will want to show the Professors that they made a mistake not bringing them back, and the Professors want to show that they are better off without them. Team Finesse just added a 6’10” big that’s going to sure them up on the boards.

Prediction: Team Finesse wins 72-70

8:30 pm - Austin Heat vs. Arsenal

Chemistry will be an issue for the Heat as this big test is coming too early in the season for them. Arsenal has too many mis-matches for them to handle. It will be closer early, but Arsenal will pull away mid-way through the second half.

Prediction: Arsenal wins 91-81

9:30 pm - N.U.K. vs. the Blaze

The Blaze have two of the best bigs and arguably one of the best point guards in the league in Aaron Urbanus. Ironically, Aaron and Russell Permenter were part of NUKs team at one time, and we can only imagine what that team would look like if they would have stayed put. Russell and Jordan Jahr together would have been a monster tandem. Blaze has the deeper team on paper, but chemistry will win this game.

Prediction: N.U.K.s win late 77-72
