DES MOINES: Preseason Power Rankings

By Kelly Burton | Des Moines League Coordinator

1. Team Ball

Starting off the Fall season as the preseason number-one after finishing the last two seasons as the champions. With the nucleus of the team coming back, Team Ball will look to hold on to their spot. Led by sharp shooter James Siegle and the ball-hawking defense of Shaun Lomas and Alex Albaugh will be strong.

2. Inter Ballers

They’ve changed the name of their team from the last season played but have four players from that team. The strong backcourt duo of Derrick Beechum and Javier Valdez are back, plus Mike Caron and Miguel Valdez are back as well. Bolstering their backcourt they added another top guard in John Lamb who can score with the best of them.

3. Life Time Ballers

Looks to be back and stronger than ever. To go along with the dunking machine Mark Phillips and scorer Taylor Newland, Life Time Ballers welcomes back Mel Stocker and newcomers to the league Luke Devenney and big man Judd Harrold.

4. BBB

A sprinkle of veterans and first-time players, BBB will be a very competitive team. Brett Wilkins will be looking to put up some threes’s; Trent Gavin plays stellar defense. Plus they have two of the taller players in the league, Jeremy Johnson and Michael Mahanna. BBB will be a tough team for anyone to play.

5. Falcons

Julio Chavez reached out to some guys and formed their own team. They will be very eager to get going and prove they can play with anyone. Players to keep an eye out for are Eric Spencer, Adam Trowitch and Mhiyu Thomas.

This looks like it will be a very competitive season and don’t think any team can come not ready to play. Good luck to everyone and enjoy the season. Please reach out to me if you need anything.
