GREEN VALLEY OPEN: Week 1 Predictions

Ball 4 Life vs. RudeDogs

The open league opens up with a bang as the runner-up from last season in Ball 4 Life will face Dan Orozco's RudeDogs's in what should be a battle. Angel Castro's Ball 4 Life really stepped it up late in the season and made the push for the title game. Taurean Green, who's a national champion by way of the Florida Gators, had himself quite the second half of the season as he scored 32.6 PPG in five games. He's of course an electric player, has a ton of speed and is so quick to the bucket.

Meanwhile, Milos Knezevic was a tough guy to defend as he went up with just about anybody including some much bigger guys. He averaged 19 points per game last season on 12.3 rebounds per contest and I have a feeling he'll be averaging a double-double in no time. Speaking of a special player, Zach Dean has turned out to be quite the speedster as the big-man runs in transition to perfection and is a quality rebounder. He's only played 36 career Ultimate Hoops games and you wouldn't think he did by looking at his style of play. If he works on his shooting percentage, he could potentially be an MVP candidate.

The RudeDogs come in with some question marks, specifically from two-time NBA champion Jordan Farmar. He sat out last season after claiming the Spring championship and could potentially be back this season. One of, if not the best, RudeDog players that will miss most of the season is Tony Eackles Jr. as he will sit out the majority of the season and could be back by Week 6. One guy that will perhaps be a difference maker could be Ben Carey. He's an electric three-point shooter and when he's open, he doesn't miss. Perhaps we may see some more action from Joshua Watson and Matthew Darcel and both can score double figures and go on multiple runs, but we'll see how the RudeDogs look like on opening night.

Based on the success from Ball 4 Life last season and the drive and determination they possessed all season long, I have to give the edge to them.

Prediction: Ball 4 Life -4.5
