DES MOINES: Playoffs Prediction

By Kelly Burton | Des Moines League Coordinator

7:00 D&J (4-4) vs Team Ball (6-2)
Don't let their records be deceiving. Both times these 2 played the games came down to the wire with Team Ball winning both. D&J has played well lately with the return of Javier Valdez from a injury. Add Derrick Beechumwith him and you have the best backcourt in the league. Teammate Mike Caron has also picked up his game as of late.

Team Ball has been lead by the 3 point shooting of Jordan Gentry and James Isaac Siegle. If big man Kyle Sievers is there this will provide a tough inside and out team to deal with. Shaun Lomas and Alex Albaugh will have to play some of their best defense to slow down D&J's backcourt.

Prediction: In a very close game Team Ball by 4

8:00 Life Time Ballers (3-5) vs Team Run It (7-1)
Last week these two teams played a close game with Team Run It winning by 3. Who has made the adjustment to this week will be key. Life Time Ballers played without Chima Igbokwe who is one of the better defenders and rebounders for them. Taylor Newland had a big gam scoring 36 points. I look for Mark Phillips to bounce back this week after a very sub par game for him last week.

Team Run It played without Peter Odia who is the leading assist man for them. Kyle Siberz and Brett Wilkins had solid games and will need to again this week. Game could come down to numbers as both teams are short handed. Derek Switzer of Life Time Ballers was hobbled some by a hamstring injury and Joe Wilson of Team Run It was lost early in the season with a knee injury .

Prediction: In another close game Team Run It by 3
