My tip is to pay attention to your hand position on the ball when you shoot. One of the things I often see with players is the shooting hand at different spots on the side of the ball. For better consistency try to have your shooting hand on the middle of the basketball, with your wrist bent or flexed at a 90 degree angle. You want your shooting hand centered and under the ball as soon as possible, not just for a quicker release, but also for that strong wrist snap that tends to produce tighter backspin and control of the ball.
