Ultimate Hoops League announces new year-end awards honoring Golfin, Scribner

Detroit’s Golfin has been an offensive standout since his league debut in 2009.

On Tuesday morning, the Ultimate Hoops front office announced two new year-end National awards, Offensive and Defensive Player Of The Year, for the Ultimate Hoops League, starting this year.

Taking a page out of the NBA’s recent renaming of the Conference Finals MVP trophies, the league will name the new awards after Ultimate Hoops League players. The Offensive Player of the Year will be named after Hall-of-Famer  McKinsey Golfin, the league’s current all-time leading scorer with 15,991 points.

The Defensive Player of the Year Award will honor Travis “No Fly Zone” Scribner, the leagues' all-time leader in blocks with 1,074.

The league will announce the 2022 award winners in December, when Fall Season concludes, with prizes to be announced later.

Las Vegas’ Scribner (left) has averaged 4.1 blocks for his Ultimate Hoops career.
