Average Joes’ (3-5) Raheel Azeez was averaging just 3.2 ppg coming into their Thursday night playoff match-up against Triple-Threat (4-4). Was Azeez using “load management” during the regular season to save his best basketball for the post-season?

Azeez hit a 12-foot jumper at the buzzer in OT to lift Average Joes to a 88-86 win over Triple Threat in the opening round of Winter Season Playoffs in the Baybrook, TX league. Azeez finished with a career-high 10 points, including 2-of-3 from behind the arc.

Average Joes’ star Ken Fisher was a force inside, getting to the free-throw line 15 times, making 12. Fisher finished with a game-high 34 points and 16 rebounds. Fisher, Azeez and Average Joes will now face the 7-0 Underrated in the Baybrook Final Four on March 25.
