Tim Szatko has a dominant performance to get Kobe its first win of the season

Tim Szatko had one of the best games in his UH career last night, helping Kobe to a 83-73 win in the Folsom Draft League.

He had his season-high in points, rebounds and assists, putting up 40/25/5. He shot 15-25 from the field and 4-8 from deep, which all added up to a PPR of 54.0. The craziest part of the stat line may have been that 12 of his 25 rebounds came on the offensive end, giving him an almost even split of offensive and defensive rebounds.

This is the fourth time Szatko has scored 40 points or more in 28 career games. The only time he’s scored more than 40 was in a playoff game during the Winter 2019 season, where he scored a career-high 46 points in a 71-68 win to advance to the semifinals. He also had 25 rebounds in that game, which is his career-high.

This was by far the best game Szatko has had this season, and it’s no coincidence that it led to Kobe getting its first win of the season after starting 0-2. If Szatko continues close to this pace, Kobe can expect to get a few more wins this season.
