FRANKLIN: Week 4 Predictions

The Monstars vs Fly Agents

First matchup of the year between the top and bottom ranked teams in the league.  Every prediction column for the rest of the season should start with “how will team X, stop Marcus Haislip”, this week it’s the Fly Agents.  Haislip is a beast, his statistics rank nationally, it will be a tough matchup for everyone, and how the Fly Agents decide to defend him will likely decide the game.

Outside of Haislip, Chris Harris is a smooth operator on the court, able to run the offense and get his points when needed.  On the Fly Agents side, Beau Beach will need to carry the offense and Caleb Kleibscheidel will have to have a big two-way game.  Ultimately the Fly Agents just don’t have the firepower to keep up with the Monstars, the game may be close in the early minutes, but the Monstars make this another blowup win.

Prediction: The Monstars by 28

DS vs Ace In the Cole

DS is back in action after a bye week in an intriguing matchup against Ace in the Cole who are coming off a tough loss.  As always with DS, its all about the shooting, will they catch fire beyond the arc or can Ace in the Cole keep them in check.  Dan Parker had the big game in DS last outing, but anyone can go off for DS due to their great ball movement.  Mitch Moeller leads the team in scoring with 21 ppg while Andrew parker leads DS in all other statistical category, I expect another well-rounded game for him.

For Ace in the Cole, this game will be won on the defensive end, Kendall Graves will need to lead the way with energy and pressure to push DS off the line, Kendall leads the team with 1.3 steals a game.  He’ll need scoring help from elsewhere, look for that to come from point guard Eli Zeigler, who averages a team high 22.5 points per game.  Close game throughout, but DS has more shooters and hits shots in the end to pull out the W.

Prediction:  DS by 11
