CHAMPIONS: Week 2 Predictions

By Kevin Gill | Champions Media Associate

7 p.m. - No. 5 Monstarz (0-2) vs. No. 4 Bulletts (0-1)

For the first game of the night it features two teams in search for their first win of the season. The Bulletts will be at full strength this week with the return of double-double machine Jaron Sweatt. I believe with the three-headed monster between him, Bryce Vaughn, and Kai Maynard will make it difficult for the Monstarz to be effective in the paint. That goes especially in the rebounding category and inside scoring. Guard play defensively will be key for the Monstarz to even keep this game competitive. Donte Mathis and Larry Mooney will keep their hands full.

PREDICTION: Bulletts -12.5

8 p.m. - No. 1 Alliance (1-0) vs. No. 3 City Centre Ballers (1-0)

This will be the game of the night! Bryce Morris made an immediate statement with the Ballers making a dominant return to Ultimate Hoops. Edward and Emmanuel White haven’t missed a beat coming in a big way controlling fast breaks with transition 3s and outlet passes. Their 96 points was the league high for Week 1 and probably could’ve had more. Alliance will be tested heavily having to go the through a tough gauntlet themselves. The return of league MVP Jervaughn Baity is right on time. I can’t wait to see what he does for an encore! I have Alliance getting through the first game.

PREDICTION: Alliance -3.5

9 p.m. - No. 1 Alliance (1-0) vs. No. 2 Lake Houston Live (1-0)

“THIS IS THE REMATCH!” -Deebo

Two of the best teams in the league will finally give the people what they want yet again. This matchup is similar to NBA rivals Rockets and Warriors. Two great matchups that know each other very well and it comes down to mental. Shelby Parsons looks great quite honestly. He scored 28 points on 13-17 from the field in his first game since the “flu game”. This matchup will definitely tell us a lot, but there is a guy on Alliance named Mackey McKnight that will definitely have a say in the outcome. It will be a back to back for the champs, so I see a third quarter wall standing in their way. I believe Lake Houston Live is too good to lose to a team coming off a back to back, yes even Alliance. I have Lake Houston winning a close one.

PREDICTION: Lake Houston Live -2.5

Power Rankings
