National Manager, Event Sales & Planning


The National Manager of Event Sales & Planning will play a key role within the Ultimate Hoops corporate team, developing and driving sales goals and execution of local and national events. This is a highly entrepreneurial, newly created position.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

·Logistical Event Planning Duties

o   Work as the main point of contact with Ultimate Hoops Regional Team and local Life Time Fitness leadership to execute Ultimate Hoops events, ranging from, but not limited to, competition-based events (tournaments, camps & clinics, VIP Pickup Ball) to corporate events (professional speaker and business networking events and corporate team building events)

o   Oversee preparation and create as needed on-site event program, attendee collateral, badges, and signage

o   Coordinate staffing needs to align with the accurate staffing of the event

o   Directly oversee and coordinate on-site registration to include badge printing, speaker check-in, attendee check-in, and sponsor check-in

o   Analyze and negotiate on-site audio visual needs for effective presentations.


Manage the execution of National signature events onsite

o   Attend Ultimate Hoops National Tournament and Maya Moore Academy as onsite lead

o   Organize event set up days for team to assist

o   Work directly with Life Time club and/or other venues to manage event and ensure optimal attendee experience

o   Coordinate the staffing plan to ensure accurate and necessary coverage


Drive sales and execute sponsorships

o   Work with the corporate and regional team to create persuasive event sales packages for group events at Life Time Fitness facilities

o   Create mutually beneficial sponsorship packages for Ultimate Hoops, Life Time and the sponsor

o   Be the main point of contact for all sponsor requests and questions


Ideal candidates will possess most or all of the following qualifications:


• 2-4 years selling, planning and managing events

• Demonstrated top performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibilities

• Established relationships with general sports, consumer and entertainment communities

• Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy

• A strong-sense of teamwork and ability to both sell and execute events

• Excellent written and oral communication skills


Skills and other pluses:


• Proficiency with basic computer applications including Google Docs, MS Office Apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)  and MAC (Keynote)

• Voracious reader of blogs, news and magazines

• Avid consumer of media including sports, entertainment and pop culture

• Strong participant in social media


Minimum Qualifications   


·       Four-year college degree
