A Crazy Night in Syosset

Medium Pimpin's Robin Howard looks to make a pass.

Week 5 action started off hot as Medium Pimpin’ took on The Real Cougar Captains. MP would take an early advantage over the RCC at half leading 41 to 25. The game was going smoothly until midway through the 2nd half when the scoreboard had a malfunction and lost power. The time and score were kept by hand and periodically announced for the player’s knowledge. Robin Howard of MP would lead both teams dropping 25 while adding 9 rebounds and 7 helpers (27.9 PPR). Howard would also play solid defense (4 steals; leads league with 4.7/game) and Mike Seff also of MP would chip in 21. The First of two 9 PM starts would place the Cougar Captains vs A-List. CC would start off with a big lead only to see it dwindle down the stretch as AL hung tight outscoring CC in the second half. AL would receive big games from Eddy Bhatia 22 points and 11 rebounds, Josh Nazarieh 21, 4 and 4 and Peter Tsadilas who would add 5 and 16 rebounds, 10 of whom came off the offensive glass. Although it was hard both teams battled through. NM would take early leads of 6 and 7 before settling on a 33-25 lead at the break. US would chip away with 5 and 6 points runs in the second half but clutch shooting by NM would lead them the way home. Mike Mastro despite a triple double with 21 points 17 rebounds and 10 assists would only shoot 3-14 (.21%) from the charity stripe. Jordan Oringer would add 20 points shouting .46% from beyond 3 point range. With NM’s Ming Wang nursing a broken finger Brandon Dominick would shoulder the load as he would lead all scorers with 30 points while grabbing 6 rebounds.
