BLOOMINGDALE: Burn Uranus defeats Balln in non-conference matchup
BLOOMINGDALE, IL
BURN URANUS 98 BALLN 77
Burn Uranus is definitely a team to keep close watch on this season in Chicago as they have a strong nucleus of weapons. They are currently 4-0 and standing on top of the Bloomingdale league. They faced there first major test this week as they squared off with the historic Balln team from Warrenville in a non-conference match up. Balln has really struggled lately when they have had to leave the friendly confines so defending the home surface was huge for Burn Uranus.
Guard Tim Dukes was electric all night with a fury of multiple moves that Balln had no answer for. Dukes finished the night with 27 points and 5 rebounds.
Burn Uranus coasted the entire game as they came out right from the opening tap and built and early lead. They had four players finish in double figures led by Dukes and his 27 points. Team captain Lafayette Bell had 22 points to go along with 12 rebounds, while guard Nate Miller added 22 and Jarvis Nichols 19 respectively.
This was a very large win for Burn Uranus as they are now 4-0 at the midway mark to a season that seems to be going very quickly. For Balln they are clearly headed the opposite direction. Despite general manager Robert Sutton's guarantee to win multiple championships coming into the season, they are in serious jeopardy of not even landing a spot in the city playoffs with there 1-3 record. It was all roses after week 1 when new addition T. Roots dropped 56 points, but since then it has been 3 straight losses and Roots even earned a DNP in the most recent loss.
This is by far the most exciting Burn Uranus yet, and they have a major test next week as they square off with undefeated GSW. GSW and Burn Uranus are both 4-0 and at the top of the Bloomingdale standings. It should come down to whoever has the ability to stop the opposition. Both clubs have been shooting exceptionally well all year so defense will be key in this contest.
